Detailed Brine Shrimp Eggs Description:
Freshly-hatched Brine shrimp are considered by experts to be the most nutritious first food for baby fish. 1.HATCHING CONTAINER: Use a container with a conical bottom. 2.AERATION: Add strong continuous aeration to the bottom of hatching container through the use of airstones. 3.EGGS DENSITY: Use no more than 2 grams/liter. 4.TEMPERATURE: Ideally between 25-30. 5.SALINITY: Use 15 ppt.A range of 10-40 ppt.is acceptable. 6.ILLUMINATION: A strong fluorescent or incandescent light. 7.pH: pH should be maintained 8.If pH drops below 7.5 sodium bicarbonate should be added to the water to increase the PH to 8.COLLECTING NAUPLII: Stop aeration and cover the top of the hatching container from light. Wait 10-15 minutes. Most nauplii will sink to the conical bottom of the container while empty shells will float to the water surface. Collect nauplii from the bottom through drainage or through siphoning. Rinse well before feeding.
