It is thickly embroidered with metallic threads, and cord and can be sewn on, or attached with glue. I recommend the product GOOP, which is readily available at hardware and craft stores.
This vintage patch came from a high end fabric store that specialized in costume fabrics, antique lace, and vintage patches.
