2. Its solution assumes weak basicity and has strong ability to combine metal ion. Its hydrate is always Na5P3O10·6H2O no matter in water, solution or air.
Generally two kinds: Na5P3O10·6H2O and Na5P3O10 which also includes Style I (style of high temperature) and Style II(style of low temperature)
Application
Sodium Tripolyphosphate has the following effects: chelation, suspension, dispersal, stickiness, emulsification, cushioning pH, so it can be used as main assistant of compositive scour, industrial water softener, tanning advancer, dyeing helper, organic synthesis catalyzer, and medical dispersant and food additives. At present, its biggest use is as an assistant of compositive scour in powder shape.
