Insulating Glass

Insulated glazing, or double glazing, consists of a window or glazing element of two or more layers of glazing separated by a spacer along the edge and sealed to create a dead air space between the layers. This type of glazing has functions of thermal insulation and noise reduction. When the space is filled with an inert gas it is part of energy conservation sustainable architecture design for low energy buildings.

Features:
◆Thermal performance: The maximum insulating efficiency of a standard IGU is determined by the thickness of the space containing the gas or vacuum.
◆Heat insulating properties: The effectiveness of insulated glass can be expressed as an R-value. The higher the R-value, the greater is its resistance to heat transfer.
◆Acoustic insulating properties: The most widely used glazing configurations for sound dampening include laminated glass with varied thickness of the interlayer and thickness of the glass. Including a structural, thermally improved aluminum thermal barrier air spacer in the insulating glass can improve acoustical performance by reducing the transmission of exterior noise sources in the fenestration system.

Applications:
◆Used for glass curtain wall, freezer,doors and windows in public areas such as hotel,hospital,office,shopping mall,school,etc.
◆A spacer that reduces heat flow in glazing configurations may also have characteristics for sound dampening in urban areas subjected to irritating noise levels, such as near subways, trucks and airports.
