Detailed Vincristine sulfate Description:


Action and indications:
Vincristine sulfate is an alkaloid extracted from vinca rosea. As a cell cycle specific drug, it can inhibit growth of neoplasm and formation of proliferating cell spindle, as a result, mitosis is stopped at its metaphase. Clinically, it is similar to vinblastine sulfate with better effects, however, no cross tolerance is found between the two drugs. It is more effective in the treatment of various acute leukemia, especially acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In addition, it has some effect for malignant lymphoma, chorioepithelioma, breast carcinoma, neuroblastoma, nephroblastoma, brain tumors, lung cancer, leiomyosarcoma, cervix cancer and alimentary tract tumor.
Usage: Used for preparation of vincristine sulfate for injections.
