Nanjing, Shanghai and Hangzhou are the main starting points of travel in the region of rivers and lakes in south China. Air, land and water transportation is very convenient in the Changjiang River delta, hence offering advantageous conditions for tourist development in the region.
Jiangsu Province has a total of eight airports, including the Lukou and Nanjing airports in Nanjing, the Changzhou Airport, the Shuofang Airport, the Guangfu Airport in Suzhou, and the Nantong Airport. Regular flights are opened every day to the main cities in China.
Shanghai is the hub for air transportation in coastal areas in southeast
China. Every day, many air planes shuttle between the metropolis and the
main cities in the country, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Guilin, and Hong
Kong. Also opened are 19 international lines. 
Through Jiangsu Province run a section of 391 kilometers of the Changjiang River and that of 685 kilometers of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. There are 2,203 courses for water transport in Jiangsu, forming a network linking up rivers, lakes and the sea. The section from Yangzhou through Suzhou is the best choice for the development of tourism on the ancient Grand Canal in the province.
Hangzhou serves as the center for land transport in Zhejiang Province. The main highways include the Hangzhou-Quzhou, HangzhouAnhui, Hangzhou-Wenzhou, Hangzhou-Ningbo, Hangzhou-Shanghai, and Hangzhou-Nanjing.
Zhejiang Province has over 100 trunk lines totaling 7,000 kilometers, and 1,500 branch lines totaling 14,800 kilometers. The opening of the Shang hai-Nanjing Expressway offers the most convenience for tourists.
In addition, buses connect Jiangsu with 120 cities in its eight neighboring provinces.
Nanjin Travel
Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
The mausoleum was built for Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great pioneer of the
Chinese revolution. Dr. Sun was born in 1866 in Xiangshan County (modern
Zhongshan City), Guangdong Province and died on March 12, 1925, in Beijing.
He was buried here on June 1, 1929.
The mausoleum is hemmed in by green pines and verdant cypresses, and is composed of an archway, a 339-flagstone stairway, a pavilion with a stone tablet under its roof, a memorial hall and the tomb. The whole structure model of the tombs for ancient empires.
Xiaoling
Built some 600 years ago, Xiaoling, or the Tomb of Zhu Yuanzhang, founder
of the Ming Dynasty, is one of the largest mausoleums for emperors in
ancient China. Born in 1328, Zhu Yuanzhang was in power in 1368 after
a farmers' rebellion. The construction of the mausoleum lasted for 38
years from 1376 through 1413. The walls around the tomb are 22.5 kilometers
long. The structures in front of the tomb are grand, especially the stone
sculptures along the road to the tomb. 
Unfortunately, the structures were destroyed in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The main structures in existence include the Xiama Archway, the Square City, the stairway, the Stone Bridge, the Front Gate, and the inscribed stone tablets.
Taiping Museum
Located in Zhanyuan Garden on Zhanyuan Road, the museum has an exhibition
area of 1,200 square meters.
It was built in October 1956 for the 100'" anniversary of the Taiping Rebellion. In collection are more than 1,600 pieces of relics, of which 42 are under state Class I protection. Some of the books printed during the Kingdom of Heavenly Peace can also be found in the museum.
Suzhou Travel
Tiger Hill
Located in northwest Suzhou, the Tiger Hill is a major tourist attraction
in the city. At Hanshan Temple, people can go to the Tiger Hill by small
dragon boat.
The pagoda in the Tiger Hill was erected in 961 of the Northern Song Dynasty. Since the Ming Dynasty, the pagoda has leaned northward at an angle of 2? 48'. The temple in the Tiger Hill was formerly named Yunyan, which was built in the Jin Dynasty.
Zhouzhuang
Located 30 kilometers southeast of downtown Suzhou, Zhouzhuang Town was
first a village estabed in 1086 of the Northern Song Dynasty. 
An ancient town on water, Zhouzhuang is charming for beautiful surroundings and simple, ancient dings, and crisscrossing rivers and lakes. Over half of the buildings in the town were constructed in the g and Qing dynasties.
Another feature of Zhouzhuang is small bridges. There are 10 ancient bridges in the town.
Zhouzhuang Town is the best representative of the traditional and the modern. Apart from ancient buildings, the town has the most up-to-date tourist facilities, including holiday resorts, hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers.
The natural beauty of Zhouzhuang has made the town a filming center in China. Every April, the Zhouzhuang International Cultural Festival draws great number of artists, scholars, and visitors.
Hangzhou Travel
West Lake
The West Lake is located west of Hangzhou City and hemmed in by mountains
on three sides. It covers an area of 5.6 square kilometers and consists
of three isles.
The view of the West Lake is simply enchanting. Peach, peony blossom in spring; lotus reflects on green water in summer; Osmanthus sends forth fragrance in autumn; and plum withstands the snow in winter.
Shaoxing
Established 2,400 years ago, Shaoxing City in northeastern Zhejiang
Province has an area of 7,901 square kilometers and a population of 
4.2
million, and provides the most typical landscape in the region of rivers
and lakes in south China.
Shaoxing has rich natural resources and produces many traditional famous brands, such as Shaoxinglaojiu, silk, green, and porcelain. It is also known for cultural activities, such as the International Calligraphy Festival, the grand sacrificial ceremony to Yu the Great, the Yellow- and Red-Wine festivals, and the Shicheng Cultural Festival.
Shaoxing is attractive for its beautiful landscape, zigzag stone bridges, felt caps, and covered boats. Traveling by boat and walking along the path of hills, one will enjoy peace and happiness in heaven. Tourist attractions in Shaoxing include Yuedu City, Mt. Huiji, Jianhu Lake Scenic Spot, and Keqiao Textile City.
